Alexander’s Kinder-Tales

Welcome to our Kindergarten Class Website !
February was a great month in kindergarten and a very short one. Our major focus was learning how to take care of our hearts and preparing for “Jump Rope for Heart.” After our jumping session in the gym, the students enjoyed juice provided by Publix. Upon returning to the classrooms, “Operation Heart Beat” began. The students visited several classrooms. In our classroom, they learned how the blood moves through the heart and why our lungs are so important to the circulatory system. Some students got to walk through the giant heart as the blood. In Mrs. Maloney’s classroom, they talked about healthy food and in Mrs. Evans’ room, they exercised with Mary Cox from Cox Martial Arts. Keeping the students moving was a great way to spend Valentine’s Day and learn a lot!

What size is your heart?   Name some good food for your heart.  Why do you need to rest and exercise?  Is smoking good for your heart?
