Pittard Students Receive Top Honors at STARS

John Pittard students received top honors in the 2026 STARS (State of Tennessee Art Review and Showcase) Exhibition, a statewide art show celebrating exceptional elementary artwork from across Tennessee.

The STARS Exhibition recognizes young artists whose work demonstrates strong artistic technique, creative expression, and alignment with Tennessee Visual Arts Standards. A panel of judges selected winning pieces from submissions across the state.

Congratulations to the following John Pittard Elementary students for their outstanding achievements:
Kenzy Kaldas – 1st Place
Maddox Wilson – 1st Place
Chloe‑Paris Ntembo – 3rd Place
Mya Woodard – 2nd Place

These students were honored during a reception at the Tennessee State Museum, where their artwork was showcased alongside pieces selected from schools throughout Tennessee.
The exhibition is organized by the Tennessee Art Education Association (TAEA), a statewide professional organization dedicated to supporting high‑quality visual arts education. As the TAEA Elementary Division Chair, Ms. Sasha Burnette of John Pittard Elementary played a key role in coordinating this year’s showcase in partnership with the Tennessee State Museum.

“We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate their creativity on a statewide stage,” said Burnette. “It is an honor to represent MCS and to help highlight the importance of visual arts education in Tennessee schools.”
