Friends and colleagues will join together to honor Dr. Sidney and Elizabeth McPhee at The City Schools Foundation 7th Annual Excellence in Education Celebration. The gala, scheduled for Friday, January 24, will be held at Stones River Country Club and will highlight John Pittard Elementary School.
“Dr. Sidney and Elizabeth McPhee are strong leaders in education and our community and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to honor their service,” says Doug Young, Chairman of The City Schools Foundation.
Reservations for the Celebration are now available including individual tickets at $250 and sponsorships beginning at $1,500. A pre-party for sponsors will be held at the Jeff Hendrix Stadium Club at MTSU.
As the honorees, the McPhees join an elite group of public servants to receive this recognition including Dr. Susan Andrews, John Hood, Rhea Seddon and “Hoot” Gibson, Gloria and Ted LaRoche, Joyce Taylor and former U.S. Representative Bart Gordon.
The 2014 Celebration promises to be an enjoyable evening full of laughter and good will. Storyteller Dan Whittle will entertain guests as he provides the crowd with a sense of homespun humor towards the spirit of education.
John Pittard Elementary, home of the Pittard Lions, will be highlighted as the featured school for the celebration. Pittard Elementary provides a beautiful, eco-friendly campus with an active learning environment where all students are nurtured and academically challenged.
