Bradley Academy in conjunction with Patterson Park will host its annual African American Cultural Celebration, featuring student showcases, art exhibits, live music, local history displays, and performances from students and community partners. This year’s theme, “Legacy and Light: Inspiring Tomorrow Through Art,” highlights creativity, culture, and heritage.
The celebration will take place on Thursday, February 26, 2026, with activities scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Event highlights include a Student Living Wax Museum, African American art and genealogy exhibits, community partner resource tables, soul food tasting, and live music by Ernest Newsom. Performances will feature the Bradley Choir, Scales Steel De Boro, Wee Care Pre-K, Bradley ESP, Bradley Theater Group, 4.0 Movement Studio, and Diamond Youth Development.
Student artwork from Hobgood, Bradley, Reeves-Rogers, John Pittard and Mitchell-Neilson will be featured throughout the event. Additionally, local artists including Sasha Burnette, Aerial Mosely, Mary Watkins, Barbara Hodges and Leroy Hodges will be honored during the celebration.
