MCS News Update

Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and Education Commissioner Kevin Huffman announced this week the 2012-13 Reward Schools that included two Murfreesboro City Schools. Erma Siegel Elementary and Discovery School at Reeves Rogers were honored for scores in the top 5 percent of schools in Tennessee.

“It is gratifying to see that individual schools who are part of the Murfreesboro City Schools family are being honored for the achievement of the students they serve,” says Director of Schools Linda Gilbert. “The news affirms the leadership of the School Board, dedication of school employees, partnerships with parents, and support of the community.”

MCS teachers and support staff have persevered in looking at the needs of individual students under their care and are concentrating on serving the whole child.

Congratulations to the students, teachers and staff.
