Friends and colleagues will join together to honor Susan Andrews, MD, at the The City Schools Foundation 6th Annual Excellence in Education Celebration.  The gala scheduled for Friday, February 8, 7:00 p.m. will be held at Stones River Country Club.

Andrews has served as a family physician in Murfreesboro for over thirty years with her husband, Dr. Randall Rickard. She served for 16 years on the Murfreesboro City Schools Board of Education and was one of the early participants in Leadership Rutherford. Additionally, Andrews has been an active member of several non-profit groups and organizations in Rutherford and Davidson Counties.

Reservations for the 6th Annual Excellence in Education Celebration are now available including individual tickets at $250 and sponsorship tables of eight at $2,500. Dollars raised by The City Schools Foundation provide funding for teacher grants and parity dollars benefiting the diverse population of students that comprise Murfreesboro City Schools.

The 2013 Celebration promises to be an enjoyable evening full of laughter and good will. Natural humorist and storyteller, Jack McCall, will amuse attendees as he seamlessly crosses generational lines and provides the crowd with a sense of renewal towards the spirit of education.

Hosting the Premiere pre-party the night of the event are Drs. Max and Mary Moss. The pre-party is open to event sponsors and their guests as well as guests who contribute an additional $50 towards the Foundation.

The City Schools Foundation is a group of civic and business leaders banding together to benefit Murfreesboro City Schools’ twelve primary schools and 7,600-plus school children, and has now contributed over $300,000 directly to the City Schools.

Erma Siegel Elementary, home of the soaring Eagles, will be highlighted as the feature school for the celebration. Erma Siegel Elementary offers a challenging curriculum enhanced by supplementary technology, creative projects and student performances.
