Murfreesboro City students brought home winning ribbons and winning attitudes after participating in the 23rd Annual Area 16 Special Olympics.

John Harris, MTSU director of disabled student services, began the day with a simple motto, “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”

MCS students from Siegel, Northfield and Scales joined nearly 400 student athletes from Rutherford County to compete in a day of running, jumping, throwing and overall good spirited competition.

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office and the School Resource Officer division raised funds to support the games.
