Murfreesboro City Schools Nutrition Department is once again hitting the streets to ensure children stay nourished and supported all summer long. Through Seamless Summer Program, free meals will be provided to children ages 18 and under during June and July—no registration required.
The district’s CHOW Bus will travel across the city bringing healthy meals directly to neighborhoods to help eliminate barriers to food access during the summer months. In addition to several school cafeterias, both Patterson Park and the Discovery Center will serve as open sites for breakfast and lunch.
“We know that hunger doesn’t take a summer break,” said Jaclyn Saunders, Nutrition Supervisor for Murfreesboro City Schools. “This program helps us reach children where they are—with fresh, nutritious meals that keep them healthy, active, and ready to learn when school resumes.”
Murfreesboro City Schools is committed to supporting students year-round. Families can simply visit any of the participating sites during designated times for a free meal with no sign-up or paperwork necessary.
The Seamless Service Program is administered by the Tennessee Department of Human Services in partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). All meals are provided free of charge to children 18 and under, regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
