Dr. Trey Duke is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. M’lisa Bryant Miffleton as the new Principal of Northfield Elementary. With a rich background spanning 26 years in education, Miffleton brings a wealth of experience and passion to her new role.
“Throughout the selection process, M’lisa stood out as the ideal candidate for Northfield. Her experience and leadership skills, coupled with her compassion for children, made her the overwhelming first choice,” says Duke. “She has served Northfield faithfully over the past four years, and has a strong understanding of the strengths of the building.”
Miffleton has served as Assistant Principal at Northfield since 2020. Previously, Miffleton served as an assistant principal at Eagleville, Campus and McFadden Schools before joining Murfreesboro City Schools. Miffleton has also served as an instructional coach, an athletic coach and a classroom teacher.
“I am deeply humbled and enthusiastic by this opportunity,” says Miffleton. “As I transition into this new role, it is my goal to foster a culture of kindness and provide our students with the highest quality education.”
A native of Murfreesboro, Miffleton attended Murfreesboro City Schools from Kindergarten through sixth grade at Bradley and Mitchell Neilson. She graduated from Oakland High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Learning from Martin Methodist College. Miffleton obtained both her Masters and Education Specialist Degrees in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University.
