Murfreesboro City Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Shavon Davis-Louis as the principal for Cason Lane Academy.
Davis-Louis currently serves as the District Coordinator for Instructional Effectiveness & Professional Development. Prior to this role, Davis-Louis has served MCS in the roles of assistant principal, teacher and instructional technologist. Davis-Louis has also served as an adjunct instructor as well as a consultant with The New Teacher Project.
“Shavon is highly respected across the district,” says Dr. Linda Gilbert, Director of Murfreesboro City Schools. “She understands the vision of the school district and its focus on children. She has the experience and intellect to continue moving Cason Lane Academy forward.”
Cason Lane Academy, home of the Chargers, located at 1330 Cason Lane, is home to over 800 students ranging from preschool to sixth grade and boasts nearly 90 teachers and staff members.
“I am truly honored to be the new instructional leader of this great school community. My main goal is to ensure every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and positive learning environment. Working together as a team with staff and parents, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best,” says Davis-Louis.
Davis-Louis received her Bachelor’s Degree from Alcorn State University, Master’s Degree from University of Southern Mississippi, and her Education Specialist (EdS) from MTSU.
